In August, a live-action adaptation of "One Piece" will premiere

Luffy will be here sooner than we thought!

We already knew that the live-action One Piece series was coming this year, but Netflix opted to unveil the precise date during this weekend's fan event TUDUM in Brazil, where Iaki Godoy played the role of Monkey D. Luffy. And hold on to your hat, for the launch of the new One Piece series is on August 31.

Godoy, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, Mackenyu, and Taz Skylar, all of whom were present to celebrate the approaching release and discuss about the adaptation, divulged the details. Despite being based on released material, this is the first time we've seen the actors of One Piece all in the same room discussing the project. Perhaps they are holding something back for the supporters. Very soon, we'll know.

Massive ships, fisherman's huts, and incredible visual effects (some crew members have superpowers) are just some of the things we'll witness in One Piece, which follows several bands of pirates as they quest for a famous treasure. And it looks like Netflix didn't skimp, as huge set pieces were built in Cape Town for the eight episodes of Season 1. Godoy's Luffy, an unwavering optimist, will lead the fleet as he searches for the famous One Piece treasure and assumes the title of pirate king.

The live-action series is an exciting new chapter in One Piece's illustrious history.

You probably have heard of One Piece at least once, even if you don't read manga or watch anime. Both the manga and the anime series are among the longest-running in history, with the former selling over 500 million copies around the world. More over a thousand episodes of the One Piece anime have been broadcast, and more than a hundred tankbon volumes of the manga have been compiled and published.

The year 1996 saw the adaptation of some of the most iconic works of manga and anime history, and it was in this year that Eiichiro Oda produced all of this. Twenty seasons have been dedicated to telling the One Piece story. The year 2022 saw the debut of One Piece Film: Red, one of a series of video games and animated films based on the series.

On August 31, Netflix will release the first eight episodes of the live-action One Piece series.
